the clip-on tie

in my research for today's topic i learned that the clip-on tie was invented in iowa. i like iowa. seriously, i do. on my many travels west on I-80, iowa is my favorite state to drive through. it's hilly, it's farmy ... i like it. but now i kind of want to judge it for inventing the clip-on tie.

not that the clip-on tie doesn't have its uses. policemen wear them so the bad guys can't strangle them with their own uniform. that's a smart move. and thinkgeek's 8-bit tie HAS to be a clip-on to successfully 8-bit. so iowa, i still salute you.

i also read an interesting article on how to turn a regular tie into a clip-on tie. okay, it wasn't really interesting, and the end result wasn't really a clip-on. so we'll move on from that now ...

then it occurred to me that if i have to do research, i apparently don't have a strong view on the subject. and then i realized that the topic didn't ask me to have a strong view, it just asked me to blog about it. so, clip-on tie, this one's for you, buddy. this one's for you.

Thats's a good point. i do love the law enforcement officers and would hate for them to be strangled.
