a memory that makes me laugh

technically the topic called for my favorite memory that makes me laugh. i've learned over the past couple of months that topics that call for a stand out (favorite memory, most embarrassing moment) are not ones that i completely enjoy. it just requires so much thought. and judgment. and ... well, i change my mind a lot. so even if i truly had a favorite right now, it would change by next week.

for this topic, however, i had something come to mind fairly quickly. i don't remember how old we were - high school? college? i was sitting in the kitchen with my mom and my brother. my brother was doing something humorously irritating (i don't remember what, but i remember it was humoring me as much as it was irritating me), and i had a glass of ice water sitting in front me. i asked him to stop; he did it again. i asked him to stop again; he did it again. and each time he did it again he grinned just a little bigger. finally i told him that if he didn't stop i was going to throw my glass of water at him. he did it again, with an even bigger grin.

as he wiped the water off of himself, his response was something like, "well, you did tell me you were going to do it." we were both laughing pretty hysterically at this point. i'm not sure either of us believed i'd actually throw the water at him. but it was a good time.

Yeah, I'm sure I deserved it. :-)

What came to my mind was staying up late playing with ace bandages.
