this year they stayed up until my roommate took them down, for the most part. that's the advantage of her having put them all up while i was out of town - she used all her own stuff, so she took it all down, too. :) i had a few things up, but they came down when hers did - even if they did just get put away yesterday.
usually i'm ready for the christmas decor to come down about two days after christmas. i like having it up before the holiday, but i'm done with it once it's over. i don't mind keeping up some winter decor (like the big snowflake hanging in the office), but the christmas-themed stuff needs to come down in a timely manner.
and don't judge me, but i kind of want to decorate for valentine's day.

i'm thinking that last sentence entails "non-tradiotional" valentine's day decor...?
whereas i would probably decorate with full (implying not broken) pink and red hearts, candy, etc, yours may not fully follow suit.
have you noticed that we as a society have pretty much dropped the "st." from valentine's day? i noticed this was included on my large desk calendar from litho. you don't hear too many people say happy "st. valentine's day". i will stop now. ;-)
actually ... i was thinking very traditional. i think a garland of pink & red felt hearts would look so cute strung along the front of our entertainment center. and a little cluster of hearts hanging from the light over the dining room table would be adorable. and we have some really cute heartsy fabric at work - i could make a dish towel or two to have in the kitchen ... maybe a pot holder or two to coordinate?
wow, even after a full 8 hours of sleep, i still think it would be fun. maybe i'm broken ...
i only hear st. valentine's when i watch that episode of 30 Rock where elisa takes jack to church. :)
I think I just threw up in my mouth a little bit.
